Leominster, MA

topography-04.png

Highpoint provided civil engineering, permitting, and stream restoration support for the repair of damaged site infrastructure at the CVS property located at 188 Central Street in Leominster, Massachusetts. The project was initiated after a significant upstream storm event and dam breach caused high flows through Wass Brook, resulting in streambed scour, embankment erosion, collapsed retaining wall sections, and damage to adjacent paved areas.

The work includes replacement of damaged segmental block retaining walls, restoration of approximately 86 linear feet of streambed, stabilization of eroded banks, installation of armored riprap slope protection, repair of affected pavement areas, replacement of damaged fencing, and implementation of erosion control and dewatering measures during construction. Highpoint prepared the Notice of Intent submission to the Leominster Conservation Commission and supported documentation for work within Bank, Land Under Waterbodies and Waterways, Bordering Land Subject to Flooding, and Riverfront Area. The project was designed to restore pre-flood conveyance conditions, stabilize the stream corridor, reduce future scour potential, and protect adjacent commercial and residential infrastructure.
